What changed because of them
Conner is named next to Ward and Terry Fritz as a DRSSTC co-inventor on loneoceans' credits page, and his line is not a Ward derivative. His site documents a from-scratch PLL driver dated July 2005: CD4046 phase lock, a self-tuning circuit that nudges the loop-gain pot on its own, an opto-isolated interrupter input and a dead-time generator, on a professionally drawn sheet with board files and a BOM for download.
The part that mattered beyond the PLL itself was a tuning technique only possible with this driver, which stops primary current running away on a ground strike. His coil Mjöllnir ran at five times its designed power without losing an IGBT. Odin The All-Fragger followed with a Rev B driver and a brick-driver add-on. Uzzors2k's PLL SSTC of 2007 is built from his published schematic and says so in the title block.
Much later he proposed a third way to ramp a QCW without a buck or a phase-shifted bridge: let the current ring up past a setpoint, turn every switch off at once and let the tank regenerate into the bus, so the envelope falls as fast as it rose. Davekni tried it in practice on a UD3.
