What changed because of them
Barnkob's site, Kaizer Power Electronics, is where a lot of the hobby's working knowledge ended up written down: a DRSSTC design guide with worked numbers, the UD2.x phase-lead calculator, a mirror of Ward's UD1.3b and UD2.1b articles that this tree itself uses as a source, and a long list of featured coils. He also administers highvoltageforum.net.
His own coils show the boards in use rather than new ones. Kaizer DRSSTC IV in 2015 runs UD2.1b rebuilt as a single-sided board with no SMD parts, with reinforced 24 V traces and heat-sinked MOSFETs so it could hold the long on-times a QCW-style ramp needs. Kaizer DRSSTC VII in 2026 runs Daniel Marks' UD2.9 unmodified, sized straight out of his own guide's calculators, which he calls his ten-minute design. That a 2018 board is still being built on in 2026 is the point.
With Finn Hammer he built the large dual-DRSSTC system that opened at Denmark's Energimuseet in April 2025.
